I recently came across a statistic that really blew my mind. I mean, it’s one of those numbers that makes you question everything you thought you knew about success.
Here it is: 90% of podcasts don’t make it past episode 3. And out of the remaining 10%, 90% don’t get to episode 20. So, if you manage to hit episode 21, you’re officially in the top 1% of podcast producers.
Let that sink in for a minute. Isn’t that wild?
When I first heard this, I was seriously hesitant to believe it. But then I thought about it—and it makes perfect sense. Think about anything you’ve tried to start: a new habit, a project, or a goal. How many times have you gotten excited, put in a bit of work, and then just... stopped?
How many people quit the gym after a few weeks? How many people give up on their New Year’s resolutions by February? How many people let their dreams or goals fade because they don’t see instant results?
It’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t work right away or when we don’t see immediate results.
The truth is, the biggest component of success isn’t about being the smartest or most talented—it’s about sticking with it. It’s about doing the work, even when it feels boring, hard, or like it’s not paying off yet.
You don’t see the results immediately, but you will build something incredible over time if you keep going.
I know it sounds cliché, but success really is about consistency. And guess what? Only a few people are willing to stick it out long enough to make it to the finish line.
So, next time you’re ready to give up or feel frustrated, just remember: the difference between the 1% and the rest of the crowd is that the 1% don’t quit.
It’s hard, I know. It feels like you’re constantly pushing against a wall. But that wall? It’s breakable. If you keep showing up, even when it’s hard, you’ll eventually get over the hump where everything starts to come together. And it feels worth it when you get there.
And if you’re looking for support to push through and keep working toward your goals, we're talking about all this (and more) in the Solutionary 9. It’s a place where we get real about the challenges, the setbacks, and the importance of sticking it out.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start now. Keep going. And watch yourself succeed in ways you never thought possible.
